In BS 7671:1992 it said "601-10-03 Where a shower cubicle is located in a room other than a bathroom or shower room, any socket-outlet not provided in conformance with Regulations 601-09-01 or 601-10-01 shall be installed at least 2.5 m from the shower cubicle." was this in BS 7671:2001? in new BS 7671:2008 we have "701.512.3 socket-outlets are prohibited within a distance of 3 m horizontally from the boundary of zone 1." which no longer has special bit for shower not in a shower room but all come under the same rules.
In my dad's house the far wall in bed room is just outside the 2.5 m limit but within 3 m limit waiting for re-wire if after July 1st may need to extend shower cubical but I don't have a 2001 copy of 16th to hand and I can't remember a restriction except must have earth leakage. Did it change between 1992 and 2001?

Hi again,
as understand it; BS7671 2001 PART P GUIDELINES
shower enclosures within rooms other than bath/shower rooms the socket- outlets are allowed provided outside zones 0,1,2 or 3 and RCD protected.
Which means at least 3 metres from shower cubicle protected by an RCD
