erecting concrete fence posts against the house wall.

Hi
I have to erect a new fence, I am using concrete posts and feather edge panels.
The posts at both ends have to be fitted up against house walls.
The fence panels are 5ft high and will sit on top of a 1ft high brick retaining wall.
The concrete posts are therefore 8ft allowing for 2ft to be buried into the ground.
My main questions are, am I likely to have any problems with hitting the house foundations when digging holes for the end posts and if so what are the solutions to this problem.
Also am I likely to cause any rising damp problems with the posts bridging the damp course, if so how can I avoid this.
I would also be grateful for any other advise regarding this project.
thanks charlier
