Trellis on Top of Fence With Concrete Fence Posts

Hi.

I have some fence with concrete posts. The concrete posts are not the ones with the grooves in the sides so that fence panels can slide in between them. Instead they are solid with no grooves, but have holes drilled in them for cross beams of wood. Planks of wood have then been nailed to the cross beams to form the fence panels.

I have seen metal brackets to attach to concrete posts with grooves so that trellis can be attached on top, but these will not work with solid posts.

Does anyone know of a way to attach trellis to solid concrete posts?

Thanks,

The main problem you probably have is that your existing fence has posts at 2.4m or 3.0m centres being a feather edge or close board fence.

Your are probably going to have to make sections of trellis to suit even if you can find an appropriate bracket to fit to your existing posts.

Alternatively you may have to "bodge" a timber fitting on the existing fence to nail these short 6ft panels to or you could install a second set of timber posts to support the 6ft panels.

No easy answers with these types of concrete posts!
