Spraying vacht varnish on fence instead of brushing?

Can you spray yacht varnish onto a fence instead of brushing? The fence in question is quite long and there are a number of places which are almost inaccessible.
What equipment would I need?

Assuming the fence is solid you could hire an airless sprayer but overspray will still be an issue.
