I AM ABOUT TO REPLACE /RENEW MY ROOF OVER MY UTITILITY AND GARAGE IT IS A LARGE AREA. THE COVERING ON AT THE MOMENT IS FELT AND LEAKING . THE MATERIAL I AM GOING TO USE AND IT IS USED WIDELY UP HERE IN SHETLAND IS PLASTIC COATED PROFILE SHEETING. IVE BEEN ADVISED TO LAY IT ON THE ORIGINAL ROOFING VIA STRIPS OF INCH TINMBER. WILL ANY CONDENSATION STILL LEAK THROUGH THE OLD ROOF WOULD PUTTING A POLYTHENE SHEET DOWN FIRST HELP :?: :?: :?:

Well karlos,if you put a plastic sheet down your going to punture the plastic when fixing the timber!.I think you would still get conden under the metal sheeting.Putting metal sheeting over the existing i dont like, its a quick fix in my oppinion.Bite the bullit and do correctly (if funds are ok of course).I reccon you could use metal sheeting if you can get some kind of pitch, fixing rafters first.
