Hi,
I need my flat roof on my lounge extension replacing.
I am bewildered with the array of roofing types available and each company sings the praises of their product.
Can someone give me an unbiased opinion of what I should go for?
I have looked in the projects and this doesn't seem to help as I want the work doing by a contractor.
I live in Kent, if this is relevant for the type of weather experienced here.
Thanks,
Tony

HI

Have you checked out the Flat Roof Repairs project in the projects sectio: https://www.diydoctor.org.uk/projects/repairflatroof.htm
It is presented by a company called Permaroof that specialise in this type of work. They may be worth a shout!!

Hi,
Yes, I have looked at this and it doesn't give the type of information that I want.
As I said, I need an unbiased opinion of the different types of roofing material.
Regards,
Tony

The manufacturers are all bound to says their product is the best LoL.

I'd suggest listening to the manufacturers is a waste of time. Get yourself a roofing contractor along to advise you, look at the job and make recommendations. Actually get 3. You'll soon get a feel of whether you can trust them.

If the PM system on this forum worked I could give you the name and telephone number of a very honest and reliable independent roofing contractor who's company is based only just t'other side of the border in *******.

I have no axe to grind - I'm in SW London.

Cheers
