Insurance for Flat Roof Using Modern Materials?

Hi, I am considering a flat roof from using a "modern" material (Sarnafil, Alwitra etc.) but concerned that my current insurance company doesn't cover it (unless it is felt or other "standard" material). I did find a small number of companies that would cover it, but yearly premiums would be 4000, rather than 400 for felt.
Where should I look for insurance? Would I need to go through an insurance broker, and expect to pay much much more.
Seems odd as I thought Sarnafil or Alwitra would be a better product than felt.
