Opinions on EPDM Membrane Roofing Work

by abedegno » Fri Sep 20, 2019 9:30 pm

Just employed a roofer to do some remedial work on my house, everything looks okay IMHOI except the rubber membrane he used to replace some lead flashing.

Am being picky with this:

There's also a purple glue dried onto the fascia, I can only assume this was used to glue down the EPDM?

Is this an acceptable finish?

Thanks

Abe

No this looks terrible. Looks like he should have smoothed the surface before laying and then used Lead Alternative for the flashing

It is normal for EPDM rubber to bubble once it has been applied correctly, this is due to gas-forming after the glue dries, I would be questioning the finish though.
