Laminate cut around toilet

Hi, I am installing a new floor in my bathroom and the laminate instructions say not to screw a toilet to the laminate floor. I can see the point of this due to movement etc but i dont fancy a 12mm gap around the base filled with sealant. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to achieve a better finish / look or if screwing down the toilet may be OK,

Many thanks

My view is that the toilet always sits on the floorboards and the flooring or tiling is fitted round it. Fitting the toilet over the top can bring later problems. Others won't agree of course.

Scribe closely to the pan. In a small room the expansion joint doesnt have to be that large if you are using a decent laminate floor.
