Similar to the query below - does laminate flooring have to be flush on all 4 walls to create tension to stop the floor from moving or is it OK to lay the floor say under some built in cupboards and rely on friction to stop the floor moving over time?

Laminate flooring needs expansion on all sides or the boards will be put under tension and the tension results in the floor rising (much like an air bubble) If an area is trapped under units then make sure that you still leave rom for the floor to expand.
