I have a sloping upstairs wooden floor caused by a gable end problem that has been rectified. The floor is only 3cm out of true over the length of the room in one direction and the joists, although old, are solid and safe as is the new brickwork. Lifting the boards and running new joists alongside the old and relaying the floorboards is obviously a long hard job. Is it possible to use (or make) a form of self leveling compound to use on top of the wooden floorboards, then tile on top for a modern look?

Need to be carefull with the weights you're loading onto the flooring,
If it was me I'd cut a roofing batten down to the 30mm and lay against the gable wall then get a long straight edge and put at a right angle to it,
then rip more battens down grading to other side of room, pin down and board over, sounds harder than is ask me if unclear and Ill be more specific.

second way
locate top of joists into Gable wall dig out 50mm above joist go downstairs jack up with acro's and scaffolding board fill lift gap underneath with blue slate - make good.

Second option better to call a pro :)
