underfloor heating under solid wood floor

by arundel10 » Wed Sep 17, 2008 8:18 pm

Hi, I'm going to put down a solid wood floor in our hall, only 6sq m. Under this I want to put underfloor heating. I have put it under laminate flooring in our kitchen and dinning room and its great.

Now the problem!
I was going to use that sticky backed insulation from BandQ to fix the flooring to. When I put the underfloor heating down though this makes a barrier between the wood and the sticky insulation and the wood won't stick to the insulation. I obviously cannot nail it? Any suggestions?/??
Thanks! :?

you are better of using an engineered board with underlay rather than solid wood.as of yet i don't know of any solid woods that can be stuck to underfloor heating unless you use elastison underlay
