I have one floor board that has a bow across it's width. A fitted wardrobe is going to be built in this area and this uneven board needs changing. I need some advice. how do I remove this board without damage to others. The floor boards would have been laid during the 1930's so will i be able to get the same width size or will it be a metric size slightly different?thank's Tooly.

Depends if is T+G. If so you will need to cut the tongue, and if it is not jointed where you want to remove it, cut down over the floor joists. A recipricating saw is ideal for this, and an electrician's bolster for lifting, BUT, be aware that pipes are always "notched" into the joists, and at a certain time, so were electric cables.
If there is a wardrobe going over it, and it will not be seen, could you not simply remove the offending area, or scribe the base of the wardrobe to fit?
