Levelling concrete sub floor for laminate

I'm going to fit B&Q tile-loc laminate in my kitchen. House built 1989, existing flooring is original thermoplastic tiles stuck onto concrete sub floor, still well stuck down so no probs there. Planning to use combi foam/dpc underlay, and sealant in board joints.
But I've measured uneveness of 3mm per 1m length. Is it OK to use self-levelling compound over textured thermoplastic tiles? I've never used this before, so which type is best for DIYer: some have latex, some don't. Also, any tips would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
