hi,
a little help is needed please. i'm thinking of putting down wood flooring in a hallway, washroom, my problem is its an old house i dont want to remove skirting boards to lay then replace as pipes for rads fitted to them, i'm aware i must leave 1/4'' around the edges for expanding, they say then place 1/4 edging covering that gap. this not easy as theres plenty of corners ect, so could i use a silicon or some such item to fill the gap, would this be ok and let expand, if done in dark brown would'nt look to bad (i think)!!
cant myself think of any other way round it
and can you use ordinary carpet underlay that rubber backed type as a base?
hope someone understands what i'm trying to do/say
thanks :? [/b]
