Carpeted floor under a Tumble drier

Hi,
I have just bought a new tumble drier which won't fit in our kitchen (which is tiny). The kitchen is the only room in our house which is currently uncarpeted (apart from the bathroom). Having read the instructions for the Tumble drier they say that the machine should under no circumstances be placed directly onto a carpet. As we have nowhere to put the tumble drier that is not carpeted would it be ok to buy a square of non-carpet flooring (eg laminate, vinyl) and place this on top of the carpet with the Tumble drier on top of that or should we find something thicker such as a piece of worktop? All advice gratefully recieved as I'm worried that we won't be able to use the Tumble drier unless we can find a solution!
Thank you!
