repair of end joists

I have a hallway that runs between the side of my house and an adjacent room which moves when I walk on it.

I have removed the floorboards and noticed that the joist ends do not sit on anything which is the reason I have the movement in the floor. I've also noticed the joist ends are old and brittle. There is a foundation wall beneath the joist end but this has a peice of 2 x 4 on top which the joists are to reside on. I'd like to have more of a permanent repair than a floating peice of wood which comes away when people walk on it.

what is the best option here:
1 - lay some brick with cement under the end joists
2 - use a joist hanger ?
3 - attach the 2 x 4 to the brick foundation and then fill the gaps with timber to prop up the joists to level the flor ?

can anyone suggest something.

extend the joists by bolting a new piece of the same size (1 metre long) to the existing,Then install a new 4x2 sole plate and pack it till its tight under the joists, then bolt it to the wall under the floor.
