concrete strip in wooden floor

hi
there is a concrete strip in the middle of my sanded floorboards about 5 inch wide, across the room. I 'd like to remove this/ hide it.
short of removing a concrete strip (the remnants of a wall I assume was there) and replacing with a reclaimed timber strip, is there another solution?
Is there paint to mask it and look convincingly like wood colour?
it is in the middle of hte room.
the wood is old pine.
thanks
