Hi
I am repairing old floorboards. I had to cut one of the damaged board where it meets the airing cupboard, which is giving me a problem where I need help. One end of the replacement floorboard now has no support and I need to use a piece of wood screw to the joist to provide support for the floorboard, I am using a timber piece of 45mm*75mm and of 15cm length and fix it to the joist with 70mm screws of 5mm diameter, am I using the right hardware? I am having difficulty in inserting the screw into the joist as no space for electric screwdriver, any advice?
Thanks
