Hi, first post on this site, first bit of diy for me after buying my house.
I am having porcelain wood effect tiles on the hallway downstairs and new carpets stairs and landing.
The hallway floor under the existing carpet is concrete. I have a friend who has rolls of left over foil bubble style insulation and doesn't want to throw them in the skip.
I'm wondering if it'd make any difference at all for my flooring in terms of keeping it warmer. Sort of use adhesive to stick the foil sheets to the concrete floor and then have the porcelain tiles laid on top. I'm not sure if it'd affect how well the tiles adhere as the stuff is shiny. It will be a pro doing the tiling, I'm just not sure if it's possible or going to make any difference. The house is ex council, built 1967.
