Painting or staining laminate to repair darkening

by Foxblood » Tue May 04, 2021 8:11 pm

Hi guys

I have this laminate going through the bottom floor of the house and over time the dog has knocked his water bowl onto these parts of the boards and it's caused this darkening.

What's the best way of getting rid of this, I've thought about sanding the entire floor and painting it or tinting it but not sure what the best option is...

Any ideas? Below is some of the damage in referring to

Hi foxblood
Water has gone into the end grain of your timber floor. Until it has dried out treating it will be a waste of time. You could try blowing a fan heater on a low setting over the affected areas and then treating them once they are dry.
