Uneven Bedroom Floor

Im lookin for some advice on how to level an upstairs bedroom floor. Our house had suffered from subsidance on one side at the front and as a result the bedroom floor slopes to one side. There is also a hump in the floor where the slope begins. The floor is currently covered with laminate flooring which really shows up the hump. I want to get the floor more level and then recover it in carpet.
Is there any way of reducing the hump in the floor and of levelling the joists that have been bent from the subsidence? Also will making major alterations to an upstairs floor mean the we need to re-plaster the celing below?
Any advice or recommendations very welcome.
