OAK FLOORING UNDERLAY

I am about to lay solid oak flooring over existing tongue and groove flooring. The oak flooring is also tongue and grooved planks which need to be nailed through the tongue .
This is being fitted upstairs above my living room .As the finished height is not an isssue ,i was thinking of laying it on 5mm green fibre board.
This is more to do with noise suppresion than any other issue.
Is this viable ?Or can anybody give me some ideas for noise reduction etc.
