Level ceramic tiles over concrete floor

Hi
I have a ceramic tiled floor in my kitchen which is laid directly onto the concrete beneath. We want to lay a vinyl (Rhino Floor) over the top but need to a) loose the gaps between the tiles and b) level off a bump.
Someone has suggested that we board out the whole floor with 3-6mm ply screwed down at close centres.
A) Will this appear completely smooth - will the screws show? and B) Is it likely to lift - will the screws stay in place?
Any advice is greatly appreciated.
Thanks
