I am intending to lay Amtico tiles on my kitchen floor. Amtico recommend rolling the tiles with a 100lb (45kg) roller 1 - 2 hrs after laying. I have searched the internet and tool catalogues in vain for such a roller. Does anyone know where I could hire or purchase such a tool?

MK,
YOU COULD IMPROVISE, USE A WATER FILLED GRASS/LAWN ROLLER .
A STEEL GRASS/LAWN ROLLER WOULD WORK ALSO.
IN BOTH CASES, USE OF A SHEET LAYED OVER THE VINYL TILES WOULD PROTECT TILES FROM DAMAGE.
A PINT OF WATER WEIGHS 1lb SO DOING THE MATHS YOU WOULD NEED TO AQUIRE A WATER FILLED ROLLER WITH A MINIMUM CAPACITY OF
12 1/2 GALLON.
I HAVE SEEN THESE ROLLERS IN GARDEN CENTRES BUT CANT SAY WHAT FILLED WEIGHT IS!

I know the sort you mean - only about 3 or 4" diameter and very heavy.
Have you tried a flooring shop?
Cheers

A local hire-it shop should let you use one for a daily rate as purchasing oneis expensive just for one or two jobs but be careful they are heavy.
