Sinking a pool into a garage floor

We are going to convert our garage (19'x16') into a therapy room for my daughter which will include an 'endless pool' measuring 15x8 which would sit in between the two 19' end walls (4' from each) and butt up to one of the 16' side walls (ie running 8' alongside it).
Ideally we'd like to sink the pool by about 3 feet. Our garage is integral and below our living room (ie all walls are load bearing). I'm guessing that we'd need to dig down to 6' or so (will get professional advice) and my concern is the impact on the existing walls/foundation - would this require a specialist in order to underpin etc, if so it's probably worth a rethink.
thanks
