My local planning dept says no permission required if the conservatory has 75% glass.
Can anyone tell me if this includes the patio doors from the house?
This is a DIY project and a half!

Ok its a stupid question!
Its just that I want to build a wall along one side of the conservatory and this takes it over the 75% limit.
Unless I include the glass patio door!

If in doubt contact the planning officer the rules can be flexed a little bit
so long as your up front with what you are doing,he is there to help and will give you peace of mind.

thanks for that, You tend to think of them (planning) as the enemy really, but yes you are right, it maybe they will not be too bothered...
Onwards and upward!! Hopefully! :D

I think there may be a muddle up between planning and building control. building control require 75% of the EXTERNAL walls of the conservatory to be constructed using translucent material, this will NOT include the doors to the house.
The planning laws for conservatories will depend on the location of the conservatory, local planning restrictions, your permitted development rights, even the location of nearly public foot paths and rights of way!
Hope this helps.
