Have managed to dig down 900mm for most of foundation but and one end have bedrock (limestone) and am down about 400mm . Now told that should not be a need to dig further. Just need to reinforce foundation. How do i do this?

Reinforcing is done with high tensile steel bars tied together. The ties must be dome properly and the steel must be in a certain position within the concrete strip. This is not something that can be guessed and if the building inspector has said that reinforcement should be put in he will be expecting it to be done by a professional.
Because of the change in thi
ckness from 900 to 400 mm the section where the two thicknesses meet must be protected against cracking and a structural engineer should be asked to calculate what is required at this point.
