Drain insurance

Has anyone here had experience of getting their drains repaired?

According to one website a house insurance policy, which includes accidental damage, will cover the cost of drain repair.
None of the plumbers who quoted for our drains with tree root blockage mentioned this possibility

I do not see why not particularly if the trees belong to a neighbouring property. Check your policy and speak to the insurance company.

The only issues I have heard about with drains are pitch fibre pipes which tend to delaminate from inside and deform with load over time, although I beleive that there has been an ombudsman case which states that there needs to be specific exemption within the policy docs for an ins co not to cover drains.
