Can Wikes Foundation Blocks be used Underground?

Im new to this so forgive my lack of knowledge;Can I use these blocks underground? I want to construct a pier type arrangement for a shed base, some people have said "yes no problem,that's why they're called foundation blocks! and others have said "No,they will absorb water,freeze and crumble! Any advice appreciated. Mrs Doyle.
