Bungalow Foundations - Some Help Required Please

by friend101 » Fri Sep 28, 2007 1:27 pm

I'm going to be honest, this is a question from College, but my teacher has not been much help so i'm researching the internet, if anyone could find tme to help me by answering this question or pointing me to key website; that would be much appreciated, thank you :)

The site investigation has revealed that one half of the site has soft clay (approx 550mm depth) gravely clay from 550mm downwards; whilst the other half of the site is made up with fill material (rubble and very soft clay) having a depth of approc 1000mm and gravely clay lies beyond 1000mm below ground. Also, there is a combined (foul and storm) drain, which runs through the middle of the site.

which foundation would be suitable?
are there any pre-task before placing the foundation?
ways of how to deal with the foundation where the drain is passing through?
:?:

Your not allowed to ask others for assistance. This is your assignment not someone on here's. i've asked the DIYDoctor to find out who you are.
