Hope someone can help....im having my existing chimney bricked up/plastered......and im thinking of getting a plasma Gas fire, wall-hung flueless. I wanted to know if its ok in a 11' x 12' room?

I wont be using it much at all (got central heating) only on odd occasions. A friend of mine said you may not be able to have it in a room that small,is he right ?

The gas fire is from screwfix at £399.99 Below is what i have from screwfix catalogue.........

Cheshire Flueless Gas Fire

flueless gas fires require a minimum room size and purpose provided ventilation of 100cm². Refer to product specification.

Variable Heat Output 2.0kW High - 1.0kw Low
Wall Mounted
Catalytic Converter
Oxygen Depletion Sensor
Flame Failure Safety Device

You may be very lucky to get an opinion. I know a lot of gas fitters who won't touch the things.

Sorry.

The reason I said "I know a lot of gas fitters who won't touch the things" is because they think they are dangerous and don't want to be associated with them.

Does that give you a better clue?

By Rubish he probably means potentialy dangerous! They have a Catalitic type converter in them to clean up the products of combustion and not poisen you.
Your car also has a Catalitic convertor, would you back your car up to your lounge pipe the exhaust in and run it fot a couple of hours?
Dont fancy that myself.
