Hi, just had a new gas fire and surround fitted. Got convinced by the installer that I needed a flue liner (not cheap). He removed my clay chimney pot and put a small Stainless steel cap on top. But now when it is windy can't hear the television for the noise. He says not a lot he can do, surely there must be something, anyone help/advise ?

There are a number of compliant flue terminals that would suit this application. The installer could have checked and found one that would have reduced the wind noise.
