My son rents a house off a private landlord and he had a gas leak,The landlord called in the gas fitters and they said the leak is under the floorboards,To save taking up the boards and making a lot of mess they have capped off the original pipe and run new pipes through the wall and outside along the outside wall to the cooker and the up to the boiler which is upstaires..
Can you please tell me is this safe and legal and I have checked Search the last question on this subject was 2007 and gas laws can change.
Thank You. :?

Hi,

If the pipe has been sized, clipped etc correctly it is perfectly ok and legal.
Just look at a few properties- millions have gas piping outside.......I have.
