Combi Boiler problem?

by trainefficient » Sat Dec 05, 2009 2:01 am

Combi Boiler: have'nt been told the model, only that it was fitted a year ago.
- hot water only works fine

- heating only works fine

- heating and hot water both become warm and pressure at hot tap decreases.

ANY IDEAS WOULD BE A GREAT HELP. thanks

Without the make and model - it's all guess work.

Some boilers have a wax capsule, when the capsule is heated and expands the water flow will increase (potterton puma for example)

'heating and hot water both become warm and pressure at hot tap decreases' well if the hot tap is used there should be no heat going to the radiators - if there is then you're losing the heat that would normally heat the hot water - diverter fault.

Assuming the boiler is a Potterton Puma and the wax capsul is the fault. Would you reccomend to change the whole divertor valve or can the wax capsul be replaced on its own.
thanks
