Just become a mortgage slave and bought a flat. I have an ugly gas fire that i want to get rid of all together and just have the fireplace as a feature.

Would i need a corgi register engineer to do that for me or could i diy? I want the fire gone and the pipe feeding it to be obviousely sealed off and hiden from view as i will have to cement etc the floor and sides of the fireplace i think (currently hidden by a bit of ply behing the fire.

Any advice or help appreciated.

Sorry to say you should get a corgi out for this as you want the supply removed from sight and i would not reccommend diy for this as the capping off needs to be tested to confirm the supply /cap is sound.
