Hi folks,
I'm hoping that someone can help ?

I've just had a new gas cooker delivered, but not installed..
Can I reuse the old, 4 year old, rubber gas pipe that was conected to the old cooker or do I need a corgi installer to do this?
And if I need a corgi bloke what do you recon the cost will be to just fit the old or a new pipe to the new cooker ?

You can use the old hose, however you would need a corgi registered installer to do the work for you. He would check for any leaks before and after the work was carried out and he would commission the new cooker for you.
depending on where you live, i would suggest it would cost approx £70-£100.

So bazza, let me get this straight: even with a new cooker and a new hose; Me, the competent diy-er cannot couple the new appliance to the existing bayonet and check for leaks with soap solution. I still need a corgi fitter to charge me £100 for the priviledge of 5 mins work!?

That's right it is against the law to do any DIY gas work, including fitting a gas cooker.

It depends on who you get as to what they'll charge, I fitted one yesterday and only charged £30. There are CORGI registered installers out there that don't charge alot and do a good job.
