Fitting double glazed units on single glazed window frames

by justblu » Wed Jun 01, 2011 7:52 pm

hi
I have perfectly good single glazed frames and was wondering if it is possible to fit double glazed units in to them as we have decorated all the rooms and dont really want to ruin the wall paper as we have the house up for sale, all our windows are small (18x 48 so they should be easy to fit
Any help welcolm

you can fit 12mm double glazed units.I assume they are wooden windows You will have to chisel out some of the rebate to accomadate the new thickness of glass unit.
