Repairing a chipped mirror

Hi
Does anyone know if there is a way to repair a chipped mirror?
The chip is right on the corner at the back of the mirror so there is no backing to the mirror, there is no damage to the front.
I’ve been told that putting tin foil behind the mirror might reduce the damage appearance.
