The house we have moved in has some badly fitted windows. It’s a French door but with no opening windows so no fresh air is causing humidity and damp problems. Can windows that open be retro fitted without changing the existing frame?

Hello,
Bad news is that you can't retro fit openers to the frames around the french doors.
Good news is that you can retro fit trickle vents to the frames.
You could do it yourself if your handy with a paint scraper to remove your glass units and a drill to get through the plastic. The vents can be purchased from any building plastic supplier or maybe wickes / b and q.
Otherwise get someone who does know what they're doing to fit some for you.
Hope that helps.
