Large sliding patio door track problem

Hi,
I have just had fitted a 4.2m set of anthracite sliding patio doors and on the track there re 2 of these gaps filled with a poorly fitting rubber insert and a silver screw. It looks awful, does anyone know what they re or why they re there?
