Fitting second hand UPVC window on its side

I need to change the window in the shed we have and would like to make the shed into more of a studio. I have the chance of picking up a double glaze unit, but would need to turn it 90º for it to fit. I have been looking, but since of the size of hole there is nothing around. So can a unit be fitted on its side? I’m guessing I would have to make a drainage hole in the new bottom, if it can be done.

Hi daver67,
Yes it can be done but you will have to replace the hinges for side hung ones and fit support blocks on the bottom of the frame.
