I am going to take out an old wooden garage window, cut out some brickword and install a UPVC door.

I can get good fixings into the sides of the new door but because I was restricted by the lintel for height I am sitting the new door onto the damp course.

What is the correct way to fix the sill?
Am I right in assuming I should not drill through the sill and damp coruse as this would compromise the effectiveness of the damp course?

CAN'T SEE IT MATTERING MUCH AS DAMP WILL NOT AFFECT UPVC FRAME ANY WAY.

BUT, YOU COULD FILL THE DRILLED HOLES WITH SILICONE SEALENT OR BITUMEN MASTIC BEFORE INSERTING PLUGS AND SREWS AND PAINT INTERNAL BRICKWORK REVEAL WITH BITUMEN MASTICK BEFOR FITTING FRAME.
