I have a ceramic tiler in the flat above mine. His kitchen in directly above my bedroom, and has ceramic tiles on the floor. The sound problem is such that myroom cannot be used for ANYTHING never mind a place to sleep! I asked him if there was anything he could put under the floors of his kitchen so I can have a bedroom in my flat again instead of sleeping on the couch. He said that there isn't really anything you can put under ceramic tiles that will provide soundproofing as the tiles have to lie on solid wood. His IS a professional tiles, however I cannot believe there is no solution to my problem.

is this true or are there ways of softening the THUD THUD THUD THUD THUD thats caused by tiles above my head!
