Hi,
can anyone advise me on the following.

I am wanting to top up my loft insulation, however who put the last roof on, had left a considerable amount of rubble on top of the existing insulation.
I have now removed most of this but it has left quite a lot dust on top of the insulation.
Would it be ok to put a sheet of polythene on top of the existing insulation, ( leaving gaps for the air to circulate), to help contain the dust, before I top up with new insulation.

djperrott,
No, if you leave an air gap there will be no point in increasing the depth of the insulation. With no air gap you will get condensation forming.

stoneyboy,

Many thanks for the reply, seems like I'll just have to lay the new insulation on top of the old then & forget about the dust.
