Hi Folks, Hoping to obtain information on insulating a portion of a 20 x20ft garage ceiling. Our garage is beneath our elevated bungalow, the property is on a steep hillside. We have temperature differential probs in the area above the garage.
The property was originally built in the mid 60s. The area of the ceiling needing insulation to the above rooms is approx 23 sq mts.The ceiling is made up of a number of concrete (16") 41cm wide beams The remainder of the ceiling, at frontal area of garage is below the outside balcony area and pointless in providing insulating.
I have ideas of using Kingspan Thermofix TP10 or similar insulation boarding but am looking for advice from anyone who has had experience in tackling a similar problem. I understand that 2 layers of plasterboard must be also affixed to meet fire regs. Hope someone can help, it will be much appreciated.
