I believe cavity wall insulation is not a good idea when the outer leaf is creating an uneven cavity.
I have read the posts about possible condensation problems when insulating the inner side of a solid wall.
Does this apply when insulating the inside of a cavity wall?

Over the years i have constructed many different types of cavity wall construction.
For random stone wall construction ,the wall consisted of 100mm thermalite 75mm drytherm insulation and 200mm stonework.
then on another job it was specified 100mm block 50mm drytherm full fill cavity bat then 100mm block then 200mm stone.
Then another job they wanted to keep the cavity clear so I used 75mm polytstyrene laid against the blockwork and built the stonework against the polystyrene upto a height of 450mm waited 24hours to set, removed the poly and you have a nice clear straight cavity, fitted the wall ties built the blockwork up another 450mm and repeated the process.
