My 1920s House Internal Insulation Question

1920s house with 3mm asbestos cement board panels and wooden mouldings
throughout fitted onto 15mm battens (panels removed for re-boarding with what , I don't know).
Battens are still attached to brick (unfilled cavity) wall and my builder wants to cover walls with that thin bubble foil stuff as it takes up little space and board over. I'm not keen on fitting bigger battens as I don't want to compromise the intricate ceiling mouldings.
I'm not convinced the foil will make a slight bit of difference to the insulation of the house. Also there is no evidence of any damp so worried any foil insulation over walls might induce condensation that I didn't have before.
Should I let him fit the foil, will I notice the difference or just put back the house to how it was without it?
