Insulation for a Fitted Wardrobe Installed After Upper Floor Extension

We had a large fitted wardrobe installed following the build of a new timber frame, upper floor extension. All the insulation within the walls and floor meet building regulations. Unfortunately when the wardrobe fitters installed the wardrobe, they removed the skirting boards. There is no back on the wardrobes, so the back of the wardrobe is the outside wall. Effectively, the wardrobe is a frame with doors on the front.

During the winter months we can feel cold air in the wardrobes and in parts clothes are really cold.

My question is, how can we insulate the wardrobes? The cold air is coming up underneath the wardrobe floor (the wardrobe wooden floor base feels very cold) and up the back, where the skirting was removed. We cannot insulate under the wardrobe without ripping out the whole thing.

Our thoughts to insulate the wardrobe and stop the draughts are as follows:

- Lay foil insulation onto the wardrobe floor, then add another layer of wooden timber over the top - in effect building up the floor.

- Then adding backing to the rear of the wardrobes, potentially also with additional with foil insulation sandwiched in between.

Any advice would be really appreciated.
Thanks
