Want to create warm loft for storage -- is multi foil sufficient?

We have a small loft space that we want to use for storage (old papers, clothes and other items that would benefit from not having huge temperature fluctuations). We've contacted two loft builders and they have suggested using multi foil below the rafters and nothing else.

We don't need it to be warm as it would be in a living space, but we'd like it to be moderately warm (say, 10-12C) in winter and not overheat in summer. Would multi foil be sufficient? I've looked around online and it seem unclear how good this stuff really is.

What would you recommend?

Thanks,
Pete

Hi petelager,
I very much doubt multifoil will prevent the extremes of temperatures in the height of summer and the depth of winter. Add to this the possible issues of condensation forming in a sealed loft, this will make your proposed storage use not viable. It may be better to limit use of the loft to item which will tolerate extremes of temperature and seal these in vacuum storage bags.
